Roland

GR300 Guitar made by Ibanez for the Roland range of synth guitars back in the late 1970’s. Surprisingly nice Strat copy, plays and sounds good.
With the 3 Humbuckers and 5 position switch this guitar has a wide variety of tones including the classic Mark Knopfler sound.

“While the sonic potential of the GR-300 was limited, its incredibly fast and accurate tracking made it the only guitar synthesizer to ever live up to the marketing hype”.

These guitar’s 15 minutes of fame came when used by Marillion for the track Kayleigh, to get the phased sounds.

Also used by; Pat Metheny, Robert Fripp, Paul Cradick, John McLaughlin, Andy Summers, Allan Holdsworth and Adrian Belew to name but a few 🙂
